Salvation Army Red Kettle Stolen at West Des Moines Walmart
The theft from the Jordan Creek Walmart was the second red kettle stolen this season in the Des Moines area.

The Salvation Army in Des Moines reported Friday night that another of its Red Kettles has been stolen.
According to a Salvation Army news release, the Red Kettle and stand were taken from the Walmart Supercenter at Mills Civic Parkway and Stagecoach Road in West Des Moines sometime after 6 p.m. Friday during a shift when the kettle was not staffed with a bell ringer.
The kettle had been staffed earlier in the day and contained an undetermined amount of money, the release said.

A Red Kettle and stand were stolen from the HyVee Store at Southeast 14th Street and Park Avenue in Des Moines a week ago. In that incident, the Red Kettle was empty.
Including shipping, the cost to replace a Red Kettle and stand totals nearly $300, officials said.

Anyone who may have witnessed the taking of the Red Kettle and stand this evening is asked to call the West Des Moines Police Department.
The Red Kettle campaign began on Nov. 9 and continues through Christmas Eve.
