Spring Art Classes Offered to West Des Moines Preschoolers

Sharon Hatten is bringing her Art a la Carte Des Moines classes to West Des Moines, offering preschoolers ages 2-5 the opportunity to explore their creativity in a positive nurturing environment.

The classes begin April 2 at the West Des Moines United Methodist Church. Clas size is limited to 10 students. To register, call (515) 669-6636 or email Hatten at sharonhatt10@yahoo.com.

Hatten said art projects are thoughtfully selected to encourage a knowledge of arthistory and fundamental techniques while at the same time individualistic style and building self-esteem.

The sessions include Mini-Masters, Art Attack, Pico Picassos, and Eco Art. All classes are “Buddy and Me” (including parent or caregiver in class).

Hatten, the owner and instructor, has a bachelor of fine arts  in art education from Drake University and has taught art in public schools. She has  been a practicing artist in many mediums for more than 30 years and  she has sold many of her creations in Valley Junction shops.

Her projects have been featured in dsm magazine and several Meredith Corp. publications.

Art a la Carte Des Moines is also available for private parties and in-home art functions for groups of four or more, Hatten said.
