Sprinkler System Saves West Des Moines Pub from Significant Damage
The fire was out by the time firefighters arrived at Stadium Bar & Grill.

A sprinkler system activated, saving the Stadium Bar & Grill from significant damage, West Des Moines Fire Chief Don Cox said in a news release.
Firefighters were called to the business, located at 1907 E.P. True Parkway, about 2:15 p.m. Saturday. While en-route, the dispatch was upgraded to a fire assignment after smoke built up in the building.

Employees and patrons had been evacuated from the building by the time firefighters arrived and the built-in suppression sprinkler system had activated one sprinkler head and extinguished the fire, which appears to have started near a ceiling tile.

The business sustained minor damage – about $5,000 – and remained closed for the weekend.
