Are you fighting stress and toxic thoughts? Do something new and fun. Everyone has the potential to become an artist and we’ll show you how with our Basic Watercolor Class at the Ankeny Art Center. Our art classes are a great way to de-stress, make new friends and learn how to create something unique.

During our six week class Basic Watercolor class, artist Jan Globuschutz will guide you through how to arrange your palette and mix your colors. You will learn the basics of color theory, design principles and different watercolor techniques. Develop an understanding of transparent watercolor that allows you to make conscious choices regarding color, value, wetness and composition before your brush ever touches the paper.

Our next class runs from February 3 through March 10, 2015. The cost is $95 (members $82) and includes all of the watercolor painting materials that you will need. Basic Watercolor is exclusively for new artists who want to learn watercolor and establish their painting skills. Stop stressing, start living and discover your creativity on Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 in this supportive, fun and friendly class.

Jan Globuschutz is a member and former President of the Iowa Watercolor Society and has a comprehensive background in both painting and teaching.
