The wait is over and independent vendors Frank and Karen DePhillips are again selling Grimes sweet corn at Fourth Street and Grand Avenue in West Drs Moines.
It is their sixth year at this location.
The stand will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, or until that day's corn is gone.
The Windsor Heights couple show up at the fields at Grimes at 5 o'clock in the morning for fresh corn.
Corn, which matured about two weeks later than usual because of a wet spring, should be available through October, Karen said.
By then, she said, she might get used to that early alarm.
