UPDATE: Two Injured in West Des Moines Car Crash on Grand Avenue: Police Blotter
Charges are pending against one of the drivers in the accident, West Des Moines Police said.

Two people were injured Tuesday morning in a car crash in the 1600 block of Grand Avenue when a car veered across the center lane and struck another vehicle, according to a news release from the
Police, along with the and Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash about 9:20 a.m.
A 2009 Ford Fusion driven by Melissa Neubauer, 47, of Slater was westbound on Grand Avenue in the 1600 block when it reportedly crossed the center lane and struck a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Anthony Griffin, 46, of West Des Moines, whichwas eastbound on Grand, police said.

Both drivers were the only occupants in the vehicles and both were taken to local hospitals with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, police said. At this time it is unknown why the driver of the Ford Fusion crossed the center line, however, witnesses said that speed did not appear to be a factor.
Charges are pending against Neubauer, but none have been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.
