Weather Alert: Winter Storm Triton Reminds West Des Moines It's Not Spring Yet
The city of West Des Moines has put its snow parking ban into effect.

It’s not over until it’s over. Weekend thunderstorms teased West Des Moines and the rest of central Iowa, but there’s at least one major winter storm – Triton – as a reminder that it’s not spring yet.
Triton could dump up to 7 inches of wet, heavy snow by morning by Monday morning. Winds are expected to increase and reduce visibility overnight. The National Weather Service in Des Moines said the slow-moving storm.
West Des Moines and the rest of central Iowa are under a winter storm warning until 7 a.m. Monday.

The city of West Des Moines putt its Emergency Parking Ban for Snow Removal into effect at 6p.m. on Sunday. It will remain in effect until 5 p.m. on Monday.
The Emergency Parking Ban applies to all streets in West Des Moines. During an Emergency Parking Ban for Snow Removal, cars are subject to a $50 fine and/or towing.
Forecaster say snow will remain in the forecast through Wednesday. Scattered flurries are forecast both Tuesday and Wednesday before the 40s return Thursday.
On Monday, expect partly sunny skies but frigid temperatures as a blustery north northwest wind sends wind chill values as low as 10. The low Monday night will be around 18, with wind chill values as low as 5.
Cold temperatures continue Tuesday, with a high near 32, but wind chill values as low as 5. Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 30 and some flurries.
