Teens Drop In While Parents Away From Home; $3,500 Ring Disappears
No other jewelry missing from a West Des Moines home when the owner's son had friends over for the weekend.
Officers responded to the 500 block of 58th Court Monday on a report of a lost or stolen wedding ring.
The married couple told officers they had left the house for the weekend because their water had gone out. The wife left her wedding ring in a box with some other jewelry before she left. When they returned Monday, she noticed her ring wa missing, but her other jewelry untouched.
The ring is valued at $3,576.45, and contains 17 diamonds.

The couple has two children in their teens. The children were questioned, and one of them told police he had friends over for the weekend.
The parents do not believe their children had anything to do with the disappearance.
