West Des Moines Charity Aims to Fight Child Hunger
An event will be held on April 25 at Glen Oaks Country Club to help educate local residents on what they can do to curb child hunger in West Des Moines schools.

One group is aiming to educate local residents on what they can do to help curb child hunger right here at home.
Booster Pak, a charitable organization, is holding an event on Thursday, April 25, from 5-7 p.m. It will be held at Glen Oaks Country Club.
According to a press release issued by Booster Pak, more than 13 million children in the U.S. live in households that experience hunger or risk of hunger. Five children in every West Des Moines classroom suffer from food insecurity.

Booster Pak's mission is to help at risk students in West Des Moines Community Schools reach their fullest potential by reducing childhood hunger and promoting health and wellness. The charity currently serves over 600 students by providing food to take home on the weekends.
