West Des Moines Community Schools Making a ‘Heart Connection’ During Valentine’s Week

Students and staff conducting personal care products drive for West Des Moines Human Services, hope to improve on last year's drive, when more than 4,000 items were collected.

A news release from West Des Moines Community Education:

West Des Moines Community Schools (WDMCS) will make a connection – a Heart Connection – the week of Feb. 11-14. Students and staff throughout the district will be collecting personal care products for WDM Human Services, which provided more than 4,000 orders of personal care products in the last year and currently serves over 325 families a month.

Silver Cord students from Valley and Valley Southwoods have decorated Heart Connection boxes, and delivered them to their assigned building. On February 15, they will pick up the donations and deliver them to WDM Human Services.

Heart Connection is coordinated by WDMCS Community Education’s  Service Learning programs. For more information on Service Learning, please visit www.wdmcs.org/district/commed/icare/index.php.
