West Des Moines Developer to Talk to Ankeny Leaders About Casino Resort Tonight

West Des Moines businessman Gary Kirke is a lead partner in Wild Rose Entertainment LLC, which owns two Iowa casinos. The company will talk to the Ankeny City Council tonight, a month after it dropped plans to build a casino in Urbandale.

The company led by a West Des Moines businessman which owns two Iowa casinos is scheduled to give a presentation to the Ankeny City Council tonight.

Wild Rose Entertainment LLC – a company led in part by West Des Moines developer Gary Kirke – is on the agenda to appear at tonight's special council meeting, which starts at 5 p.m. at Ankeny City Hall. The council also will consider approving a memorandum of understanding between the city and the company at tonight's meeting.

No additional details regarding the presentation or the memorandum were immediately available. Ankeny Patch will update as we receive more.

Kirke and business partner Mike Richards are also partners in Fair Grounds LLC, which just last month filed an application with the city of Urbandale to rezone 85 acres of land to build a new casino. A week later, the application was withdrawn without explanation.

Wild Rose Entertainment LLC describes itself a "full-service casino resort company" on its website. The company currently owns casinos in Emmetsburg and Clinton.
