West Des Moines Extends Snow Parking Ban After Winter Storm Rocky
Heavier than expected snowfall totals mean crews need more time to clear streets.

West Des Moines city officials have extended the snow parking ban to 5 p.m. Thursday after Winter Storm Rocky dumped about 8 inches of snow on the area.
Originally, the forecast called for only about 3 inches of snow.
The emergency parking ban applies to all streets in West Des Moines. During an emergency parking ban for snow removal, cars are subject to a $50 fine and/or towing.
