Making Lemons into Lemonade for Kids with Cancer

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, a classic American Restaurant known for its wood-fired entrees, is participating in Lemonade Days for the seventh consecutive year. This event is Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation’s (ALSF) annual fundraiser that encourages communities to host lemonade stands to raise funds for childhood cancer research. This year ALSF celebrates 20 years since founder Alex Scott hosted her first lemonade stand, kicking off a global movement to cure childhood cancer. While 2020 presents unique challenges to the tradition of holding lemonade stands, Firebirds has developed several ways to join Alex in the fight against childhood cancer. While dining in through the month of August, Firebirds will make a donation for every purchase of Alex’s Lemonade to ALSF. Guests will be able to round up their checks to the nearest dollar or donate on their receipts directly. Firebirds guests can also enjoy a slice of Big Daddy Lemon Cake and $1 from every purchase will go to the foundation. This applies to orders placed through the DoorDash app and website as well. New this year and in collaboration with Tito’s, Firebirds will give back $2 for every purchase of Tito’s Lemonade Drop cocktail featuring Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Alex’s Lemonade with a sugar rim. Additionally, on-demand delivery partner DoorDash will be donating $5,000 to ALSF in support of Lemonade Days. Firebirds also participates year-round in raising funds for ALSF by donating $1.25 for every glass of Alex’s Lemonade sold in its restaurants.
