West Des Moines Police Probe Stones Thrown at Glass Houses
Police are reviewing video surveillance footage tied to burglaries.

The Glass Houses smoking accessories shop at 800 First St. has added video surveillance in hopes of stemming a rash of burglaries.
And guess what?
They’ve got some folks on tape from two recent incidents, one July 4 and another July 8. are assisting Glass Houses’ Rachel Elizabeth Gulick in identifying the suspects.
In the July 4 burglary that occurred around 2:30 a.m., the surveillance video showed a slender black man wearing a hoodie who entered through the south door, removed five glass water bongs from the shelf and then left through the south door, according to a report from Officer Scott Davis. The door had been broken, apparently with a large piece of concrete.

Gulick said the bongs are valued at $1,250.
Fingerprints were taken from the surface of the counter, according to Davis’ report.
Four days later on July 8, the south side door was broken, apparently with a large landscaping rock. That burglary occurred around 3:30 a.m. and police responded to an alarm.
Authorities tried to track the suspect with K-9 Officer Rony, but were unsuccessful.
The video showed two suspects, both caucasians. One stood outside and another, carrying a backpack and wearing a black shirt pulled up to his nose, and blue jeans, entered the building and removed some items from the shelf.
In that burglary, Gulick estimated losses at $500.
Detective Tom Boyd of the police department’s is pursuing the case.
