West Des Moines Man Says Escorts Ripped Him Off
He reportedly prepaid the woman for services, but she vanished before rendering them.

A 63-year-old West Des Moines man reported to police that two Ankeny women he met through the backpage.com escort service stole $150 in cash, credit cards and other items while he waited alone in his bedroom.
He told West Des Moines Police Officer Jason Hatcher that he had the day off on Aug. 30 and wanted to “hook up” with a woman he had met on the website. They agreed to meet at his residence at 7:30 that morning, but when she arrived, she brought a colleague, according to the report.
While he and the escort he had hired went to the bedroom, the second woman waited in the living room. The first woman asked to use the restroom and was gone for about 10 minutes. When he decided to investigate, he found both women gone, along with the money, a $300 camera, his cell phone and his wallet, which contained his driver’s licences and two credit cards.
The man said the women didn’t give their names and he didn’t ask for them. He described one as “younger looking, perfect teeth and a very healthy body.” She was about 4 feet, 10 inches tall, weighed about 100 pounds and had short brown hair, according to the report.
He described the second woman as being 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing 110 pounds.
The man was unable to provide police with the number he used to contact the escort service because it was stored in the phone the women allegedly stole.
