West Des Moines Man’s Poker Face Made Him $88,950 Richer

The Mid-State's Poker Tour's Main Event at Meskwaki Casino Hotel was the longest in the history of the tour.

Do you think you have a poker face? A West Des Moines man had to hold his longer than anyone else in the history of the PokerNews Mid-States Poker Tour’s recent stop at Meskwaki Casino Hotel.

Andy VanBlair, an occupational therapist, endured the longest Main Event in the history of the tour, the web site PokerNews reported. His total winnings were $88,958.

This was the fifth year the tour has stopped at the casino in Tama, and it drew the second-largest field of players in Meskwaki history – 348, just one shy of the record set in Season 3 with 349.
