Police are pursuing child endangerment and other charges.

West Des Moines authorities are considering child endangerment and other charges against a 42-year-old mother suspected of giving alcohol and marijuana to her daughter’s 14-year-old friend.
The girl’s mother said her daughter spent the night with her friend and was “acting strangely” when came home on March 2. When questioned, the girl admitted that her friend’s mother had given the girls alcohol and marijuana, according to Officer Chris Morgan’s report on file at the West Des Moines Police Department.
Also according to the report, the suspect drank and smoked with the girls. She reportedly does not have a valid driver license, but drove the girls to a West Des Moines mall anyway.
The reporting party told police that her daughter admitted “she drank too much and was falling and stumbling at the mall.”
In addition to child endangerment charges, police are also considering charges of distributing dangerous substances and supplying alcohol to minors.
