West Des Moines Native Ben Silbermann, Pinterest CEO, No. 18 on CNN Money’s ‘40 Under 40'

Guess who made CNN Money’s  hot-shot list of the top 40 business leaders under 40? Ben Silbermann, the West Des Moines native who is CEO of Pinterest, the fastest-growing website in Internet history.

Silbermann, 30, is cofounder of the image-sharing social media platform, which is attracting 19 million visits a month.

“And its growth shows no sign of slowing,” the magazine reported. “Pinterest added apps for the iPhone, iPad, and Android this summer, and switched to an open-registration process. (Previously users had to be invited to join.) In September, Silbermann took on a role even bigger than running a company valued at $1.5 billion.”

Tied at No. 18 on the list with Kevin Systrom, 28, co-founder and CEO of Instagram. Other notables on the list are Google co-founder and CEO Larry Page, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Yahoo Founder and CEO Marissa Mayer.
