Police Blotter: West Des Moines Police Handle Dine and Dash, Gas Thefts

Oct. 9

Danielle Kay Breitkruetz, 24, 623 17th Ave., Altoona, charged with simple assault after police were called to a residence at 811 Burr Oaks Drive.

Hayden Paul Milton, 20, 6333 Scarlet Leaf Lane, Pleasant Hill, was charged with harrassment after police were called to 1770 92nd St.

Police recovered a stolen Ford Escort from a parking lot at 1800 Grand Ave.

Oct. 7

A vehicle parked at 4805 Stonebridge Road sustained $750 damage after pumpkin was thrown from a pssing vehicle.

Casey’s General Store, 108 Eighth St., reported that a motorist drove away without paying for $30.05 worth of gas.

Manuel Victor Escalona, 4120 Pamela Court, was arrested at 6367 Vista Drive and charged with violation of a domestic abuse protection order.

Luke Richard Flanders, 31, 1308 62nd St., Des Moines, was arrested at 1620 Vine St. and charged with first-degree harassment.

Kevin Lloyd Cavil, 1534 E. 19th St., Des Moines, was arrested in the 3700 block of Westown Parkway and charged with domestic assault causing injury.

A mailbox at 228 39th St. sustained $150 damage after a pumpkin was thrown from a passing vehicle.

Michael Brian Green, 42, of 106 61st St., was arrested at his home on an outstanding warrant from Dickinson County on a first-degree theft charge and transported to the Dallas County Jail.

Oct. 6
Terrence Alexandre Mealy, 25, 409 Grand Ave., was charged with OWI after police received a report of a possible burglary in progress at 409 Grand Ave. While en route to that address, police stopped a vehicle matching a description of the suspect’s in the 2000 block of the westbound lane of Interstate 235.

A 13-year-old juvenile was charged with possession of a controlled substance at Stilwell Junior High School, 1601 Vine St. and referred to juvenile authorities.

Police are continuing their investigation of a Sept. 27 report of second-degree sexual abuse by a 65-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old child.

A 15-year-old juvenile was arrested at 10:30 p.m. for possession and consumption of alcohol at a Valley High School dance at Seven Flags Event Center, 2100 NW 100th St., Clive. 

A 15-year-old juvenile attending Valley High School, 3850 Woodland Ave., is under investigation for fourth-degree theft in connection with the theft of an MP3 player from another student's locker

Kum & Go, 141 S. Jordan Creek Pkwy., reported a motorist drove away without paying for $36 worth of gas.

Hu Hot Restaurant, 4100 University Ave., reported that a party of four left without paying their $63.94 bill.

Alex Stephen Jaworski, 30 of 2150 N.W. 78th Ave., Grimes was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after police noticed his license plate light had burned out and stopped him in the 1100 block of 39th St.

Oct. 5

Richard Joseph Moynihan, 47, 337 59th St., was arrested on outstanding warrants for first-degree criminal mischief and identity theft. He was also charged with falsifying Iowa Department of Transportation forms to obtain an Iowa non-operator's card.

Brittney L. Rice, 23, also known as Brittney Felgar, 6201 E.P. True Pkwy., arrested for public intoxication at 4:15 p.m. at the Polo Club parking lot, 6201 E.P. True Pkwy., after Brookfield Elementary School officials asked police to check on the welfare of her children after she picked them up from school. She was taken into custody and Dallas County Department of Human Services was notified.

Thomas Aaron Montez, 23, 654 S.E. 28th Court, was arrested at 1010 Jordan Creek Pwky. on a Des Moines warrant for assault causing bodily injury

Javier Pimentel-Ramirez, 34, of Building 68, Thayer Ave., Des Moines, was arrested at 301 Vine St. on a Polk County warrant for failure to appear at a child support hearing.
