West Des Moines Police Hear Naked Truth About a Relationship Gone Sour

Unfriended and blocked, woman learned from her friends how former boyfriend's alleged harassment.

Love stories – and breakups – aren’t what they used to be.

A West Des Moines woman told police this week that when she refused to share pictures of her daughter wearing clothes  her ex-boyfriend had purchased for the tot, he shared on a global social media platform a picture of Mom not wearing any.

The 24-year-old woman told West Des Moines Police Officer Tom Wynn that she had given the photo to her former boyfriend before they broke up. He lives in the Chicago area.

After she refused to send him photos of her 5-year-old daughter wearing his gifts, he reportedly sent several text messages, which she ignored, and then posted the nude photograph on his Facebook page. The woman told police she has been unfriended and blocked, but several mutual acquaintances told her what they’d seen and showed her the post.

According to Wynn’s report, it’s not known if Facebook cancelled the account as a violation of its community standards.

Though Facebook has a strict policy against pornography and limits displays of nudity, Facebook says it respectst people’s right to share content of personal importance, “whether those are photos of a sculpture like Michelangelo's David or family photos of a child breastfeeding.”
