West Des Moines Psychiatrist Alleges Handyman Cleaned Him Out
And his couch is still broken.

A West Des Moines psychiatrist told that a man who came to his residence to do some repair work stole about $20,665 in personal belongings and cash late last month.
The physician said he hired the man from Craigslist. The man, who went by the name of Jaime and is between 21 and 29 years old, had cleaned his carpets three days earlier with no repercussions.
The alleged victim provided police with a picture of the suspect, which he said he had because the two had been discussing the handyman’s tattoos. The suspect is described as a caucasian who is 6 feet tall 6-0, weighs 240 pounds, has brown hair, and drives a white pick-up.
The doctor said he excused himself to use the restroom and when he returned, several items were missing, including:
- A Rolex watch valued $10,000;
- A diamond bracelet valued at $6,000;
- A Mt. Sinai class ring valued at $2,500;
- A Nikon camera valued at $575;
- An iPad valued at $750;
- A wallet valued at $40, which included credit and debit cards and medical licenses to practice in Iowa, Nevada and Wisconsin;
- Cash in the amount of $800; and
- A list of passwords.
