West Des Moines Recruiting Now for Summer 2013 Seasonal Jobs

More than 100 seasonal positions are available with the city of West Des Moines and many will be filled by early spring.

It’s only early January, but the city of West Des Moines is beginning to fill out its summer employment rosters.

The city has more than 100 seasonal positions. Recruitment typically starts in January and positions are filled in March, April and May, according to the city of West Des Moines’ e-newsletter.

Jobs include everything from pool medics, public works laborers, and parks and recreation maintenance workers and summer park program staffers. A number of internships are available in various city departments, including the community and economic development, finance and public works departments, as well as the West Des Moines Public Library.

The city of West Des Moines uses an online application system that allows job seekers to create a profile (including contact information, work history, education qualifications and other information typically found on resumes) at any time, regardless of whether they’re currently applying for a job.

Applicants without computer access at home may use a city computer in the Human Resources department at West Des Moines City Hall during normal business hours, Or, they may use public computers at the West Des Moines Public Library.
