West Des Moines Schools’ Building a Learning Community Committee Meets Tuesday

Group made up of parents and district staff will set 2013-14 goals.

A news release from West Des Moines Community Schools:

The West Des Moines Community School District’s Building A Learning Community Committee will meet Tuesday to review the district’s recent student achievement report and set recommended goals for the 2013-14 school year.

This meeting is open to the public.

The WDMCS Building a Learning Community Committee is made up of both district staff and parents. The group serves as both the district’s school improvement advisory and equity committee. Its purpose is to make recommendations to the school board based on analysis of the district’s needs assessment data on:

  • Major educational needs
  • Student learning goals
  • Long-range goals
  • Harassment of bullying prevention goals, programs, training and other initiatives
  • Multi-culture, gender fair issues and gifted and talented initiatives
