West Des Moines Students’ Artwork on Display at Des Moines Art Center

Jan. 24 reception highlights month-long Impact of Art XXIII show.

West Des Moines Community Schools and the Des Moines Art Center are teaming for the 23rd year to present the Impact of Art XXIII show. Students’ artwork will be on display through January.

The Impact of Art event celebrates the accomplishments of the visual arts students and Art Center scholarship recipients from all 14 attendance centers in West Des Moines schools.

Parents, students and friends are invited to an exhibition of the student artwork in the Adrienne and Charles Herbert galleries at the Art Center, located at 4700 Grand Ave. in Des Moines. The exhibition is open to the public from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday, through Jan. 29, according to the Art Center web site.

A reception will be held in students’ honor from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24. Guests can see a student-designed PowerPoint presentation in Levitt Auditorium, hear music performed by Valley High School students and enjoy refreshments.
