West Des Moines Woman Reports Assault While Counseling Sometimes Boyfriend About Meth
After police took report, victim inquired about obtianing a court order of protection.

A 31-year-old West Des Moines woman told police Sunday that her on-again-off-again boyfriend assaulted her while she tried to talk with him about her worries concerning his alleged use, sale and manufacturing of methamphetamine.
The woman told West Des Moines Police Officer Blain Brinkmeyer that she asked her boyfriend, a 47-year-old Des Moines man, to leave he became upset and refused to discuss his alleged drug use.
He reportedly shoved her as he walked to the door, causing the victim to fall backward and strike her head on the television stand. She told Brinkmeyer he struck her in the mouth, causing her lower lip and gums to bleed, and covered her mouth with a jacket to muffle her screams.
Brinkmeyer said the woman declined medical treatment, but asked about prcoedures for obtaining a protection order in court.
