West Des Moines Woman Reports Sexual Assault
Woman says she was assaulted outside her apartment building.

A West Des Moines woman told police she wants to pursue sexual assault charges against a man in her apartment complex who allegedly fondled her breasts after they chatted outside the building.
The woman, 38, said she noticed a male caucasian believed to be about 48 years old standing near the south side of her apartment complex after she went outside to shake cigarette ashes from a tablecloth about 11:45 a.m Sunday, according to Officer Tom Wynn’s report on file at the West Des Moines Police Department.
The woman said she talked briefly with the man until he “observed her chest and commented how large her breasts were,” Wynn wrote. The victim said he had “fondled and squeezed them together,” then grabbed her hand and placed it on his genitalia.
The two reportedly struggled and he allegedly pointed to a white SUV with Wisconsin license plates and asked her to perform oral sex inside the vehicle. She told Wynn that she refused repeatedly refused and he eventually let go of her arm and opened the apartment door, allowing her to go inside.
The woman told Wynn that he went into one of the buildings in the complex, but authorities were unable to locate him.
There were no witnesses to the alleged sexual assault, according to the report.
