West Des Moines Youth Stars As ‘Stuart Little’ at Playhouse

A Jordan Creek Elementary School student, Peter Erickson, has the starring role in the Feb. 17 through March 4 production of “Stuart Little” in the Kate Goldman Children’s Theatre at the Des Moines Playhouse, 831 42nd St., Des Moines.

A schoolmate, Miller McCoy, plays George Little.

Adapted by Joseph Robinette, “Stuart Little” is based on the book by E.B. White. Being a mouse in a house full of humans is an adventure waiting to happen. Stuart has plenty of little mishaps, like getting caught in a window-blind, participating in a boat race, and getting trapped in a garbage can. When his friend, the bird Margalo, disappears, this heroic mouse travels in search of her.

All the charm, wisdom and joy of the E.B. White original are captured in this marvelous play of a mild-mannered mouse trying to survive in a "real people's world."

Shows are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the run, at the following times:

• Fridays: 7 p.m.
• Saturdays: 1 p.m.
• Sundays: 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. (1 p.m. only on March 4)

School matinees performances are scheduled:

• Tuesday, Feb. 21, 9:30 a.m. and noon
• Wednesday, Feb. 22, 9:30 a.m.
