If you’ve already purchased your school supplies, why not help someone else? is conducting its school-supply drive through Aug. 8 to help needy families. A list of supplies needed for each grade level is attached to this story.
The program helps children of low-income families get off to a strong start by providing them with the supplies they need to be successful. Items may be left at the Human Services office, 318 Fifth St., in Valley Junction.
Supplies will be distributed the week of Aug. 13-17, so make sure you make your donation by Aug. 8.
In addition to calculators, notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, markers, crayons, glue, scissors, rulers and other classroom supplies, gently-used clothing and shoes are also needed. Gift cards or financial donations are another option for people who want to give.
