When's the Last Date to Swim in West Des Moines Pools?
Summer is quickly coming to an end as the closing dates for the West Des Moines Aquatic Centers have been set.
A news release from West Des Moines Parks and Recreation:
Valley View Aquatic Center will close for the season at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 11.
Holiday Park Aquatic Center will operate on its normal schedule until Aug 11. Its hours will then shift to noon-6 p.m. daily. Holiday Park Aquatic Center will close for the season on Sunday, Aug. 18, at 6 p.m.

"With school activities and sports team practices starting, along with college students starting to head back to school, it is a challenge to have enough staffing to safely operate the facilities," Aquatic Supervisor Mark Brewick said. "We try our very best to keep the facilities open as long as possible and we were able to keep both pools open a few additional days this year."
