Don’t you love it when it’s St. Patrick’s Day Weekend instead of just St. Patrick’s Day?

There’s lots to do around town, including some parties close to home in West Des Moines.

First: your forecast from the National Weather Service in Des Moines.

The wearin’ o’ the green should include winter gear if you’re going to be attending one of the outdoor parties. It’ll be cloudy, with a high near 38, and there will be a cold north wind gusting to 18 mph. The low Saturday night is expected to be around 23, with a north northeast wind.

It’ll be a little warmer Sunday on St. Patrick’s Day, with partly sunny skies and a high near 41. Sunday night, there’s a 60 percent chance of precipitation. Yes, the S-word is in the forecast – it’ll be mainly rain before 1 a.m. Monday, then snow – but little if any accumulation is expected.

While you’re out enjoying the luck of the Irish this weekend, snap a photo or film a little B-roll and upload it on Patch’s Pics & Clips.
