Whippoorwill Theatre, New Venture with West Des Moines Parks & Rec, presents ‘Alice in Wonderland’

A news release from Whippoorwill Theatre:

Working in conjunction with West Des Moines Parks and Recreation, the recently founded Whippoorwill Theatre will enact a classic performance of Alice in Wonderland on Oct. 19-20.

This timeless journey will be performed at the Rex Mathes Auditorium in the West Des Moines Teen Center. Employing Lewis Carroll’s original language in this classic representation of his famous story, director Sarah Hobart seeks to enthrall audiences with a true to period retelling of Alice’s adventures in a fantastic and wondrous land.  

A cast of performers ranging from 6 years old to adult bring to life all your favorite characters as they were meant to be, straight from the mind of the writer. With this frequently adapted well-known story, Whippoorwill Theatre will inspire and entertain both the audience as well as the children in the cast, instilling love and respect for the arts to enrich the lives of youths and adults alike.  

Alice in Wonderland is a wonderful play for all ages, from young children through adults.  And the family entertainment continues with the rest of the Whippoorwill Theatre season. 

The Whippoorwill Theatre is a program for children, and like its target members, is a young organization that will bring quality theater opportunities to the youth of West Des Moines. It is working in association with West Des Moines Parks and Recreation to encourage and nurture the youth of the area in fascinating and entertaining ways.
