Whole Foods to Raise Money For Animal Lifeline of Iowa at West Des Moines Store
During Community Support Days held each quarter, grocer gives 5 percent of sales to charity.

is holding one of its Community Support Days Thursday, Sept. 13, and will give 5 percent of sales that day to Animal Lifeline of Iowa, a non-profit no-kill special needs animal shelter.
Animal Lifeline of Iowa is supported entirely by donations and ccepts homeless dogs and cats who are handicapped, injured, have a serious medical condition, are pregnant or nursing, and orphans that need to be bottle-fed.

Whole Foods Market, the world’s leading natural and organic foods supermarket, opened a 30,000 square-foot store at 4100 University Ave. in July. Whole Foods Market has a history of establishing a deep commitment to each of the communities it serves. As part of this commitment, the company holds quarterly Community Support Days in which 5 percent of one day’s sales are donated to a local nonprofit organization.
