Why Mom Locked Herself and Kids in Bathroom and Called Police
An Urbandale man reportedly raising a ruckus outside a West Des Moines home claimed he was just trying to hook up with girls he'd met earlier.

West Des Moines police say an Urbandale man who was allegedly demanding entry to a stranger’s home about 5:30 Sunday morning had a blood alcohol content of .235 and reportedly thought he was at an address about a mile away.
A woman living in the 500 block of Valhigh Road reportedly told police the man, later identified as Yusef Raymond Harris, 39, of Urbandale, allegedly was “standing at the front door of the residence screaming for help, banging on the door and attempting to open the door.”
In his report, Officer D.J. Frunzar said the homeowner locked herself in the bathroom with her children and called police.
When Frunzar questioned Harris, he reportedly said that he was trying to get inside the house to talk to girls he had met earlier at a bar. He told police they lived on Eighth Street, and then 11th Street.
Harris was charged with public intoxication and taken to the Polk County Jail.
