Why Was Job Site Toilet Seat Painted Pink? West Des Moines Police Blotter

While watching paint dry, did an alleged vandal take apart a radio and fan?

Rick Young made a perplexing discovery when he reported to his job at  Monday morning.

The parking lot surrounding a job site construction trailer parked at 3100 Lincoln St. had been painted pink.

But that’s not all he found.

The seat on a portable toilet near the trailer had also been painted in the same delicate hue.

There were “no discernable scribbles” in graffiti at the scene, according to a report filed by Officer Jeff Logan. “It appeared to be random scribble.”

Miscellaneous hand tools were missing said Young, a foreman for Corell. The only other damage was to a radio and fan, which police also found puzzling.

“Both had been taken apart for unknown reasons and left at the scene,” Logan wrote.

Logan said he advised Young of a city program that provides assistance to property owners in cleaning up and removing graffiti. However, Young reportedly said the company would take care of the damages.
