Why West Des Moines Police Filed Public Urination Charge After Investigating Hit-and-Run
A driver allegedly involved in an accident did not have a valid driver's license.

A Des Moines man was arrested for public urination Sunday morning as investigated a hit-and-run accident that had occurred earlier on the eastbound on-ramp to Interstate 235 at Valley West Drive.
Officer Tom Wynn wrote in his report that Tajh Jabari Washington, 19, of Des Moines, admitted to driving the car involved in the accident, but did not have a valid driver’s license.
Washington was staying at the home of a friend in Waukee when police caught up with him. The vehicle involved in the accident was registered to Jon Watson of Waukee, the father of the friend Washington was visiting. Watson told police his son normally drives the vehicle, but Washington had borrowed it.
Charges related to the accident are pending, but Washington was taken into custody on an outstanding West Des Moines warrant for public urination.
