Woman Crashes Car Off I-235 Overpass in West Des Moines
The 29-year-old from Waukee was allegedly drunk at the time of the crash, police told one local television station.
A Waukee woman sustained injuries early Thursday morning after she drove her SUV off an Interstate 235 overpass in West Des Moines, WHO Channel 13 reports.
The accident happened just before 2 a.m., the article said. Police told WHO Cassandra Beverly, 29, was headed westbound on I-235 when she lost control and hit a guardrail. Her vehicle went airborne and dropped about 15 feet, rolling several times and coming to rest on a concrete barrier in the northbound lanes of 22nd Street
Beverly had a preliminary blood alcohol level of .129 at the time of the crash, police told the television station. The legal limit in Iowa is .08.

Beverly was transferred to Iowa Methodist with a fractured neck and a collapsed lung, the article said. Charges have not yet been filed.
