“My daughter lives nearby and as soon as they opened the sales center, we made an appointment and came by. We fell in love with the pictures and the concept and signed a contract right away,” said Mayorga.

She and her husband moved into a two bedroom, two bath apartment on the 5th floor just two weeks after the building opened. “We have a big porch and absolutely love it. We overlook the garden with flowers and see people walking their dogs,” said Mayorga.

“There are lots of trees,” added Howard.

Since moving in, the couple has made lots of friends. “We are pretty social, and that’s what we were looking for. There are so many activities here. Once a week there’s a mix and mingle, I’m in a book club and I play Bingo sometimes. I went and painted and drank wine the other day,” said Mayorga.

“We’re both in the grilling club,” said Howard.

“And Greg has a men’s coffee group he goes to on Wednesday morning,” added Mayorga.

The community they call home, The Fieldston of Fairway, is a 209-unit 55 plus community, located at 4210 Shawnee Mission Parkway, Fairway, Kansas 66205. “It’s a beautiful, beautiful building,” said Mayorga.

“It’s like living in a resort or on a cruise ship without the water,” said Howard.

“Yes, we tell our friends we live in a resort. That’s what it feels like,” added Mayorga.

“Our community is designed around an active, social lifestyle,” said Kelsa Whitman, Community Manager. “We have weekly social happy hours, an onsite concierge and lifestyle coordinator and a calendar packed with fun activities."
