• NW Kansas district celebrates school construction milestone in post-arson rebuilding effort (kwch.com) — A major milestone in Atwood's Rawlins County school rebuilding effort just brought the new K–12 facility one big step closer to reality, with the final steel beam now in place. After an arson fire destroyed the junior-senior high school and voters approved a $29.9 million bond and sales tax, construction remains on track to bring all students under one roof next year.
• Two Kansas schools enter sweepstakes for $1 million field transformation (ksn.com) — Rawlins County High School in Atwood just scored $5,000 from T-Mobile's Friday Night 5G Lights sweepstakes and is still in the running for a $1 million field makeover. The school could advance to a public voting round in October, giving Atwood residents a chance to help push their hometown field toward a major upgrade.
