• Lowest midgrade gas price in Finney County hits $4.11 for week ending Sept. 19 (swkansasnews.com) — Holcomb drivers are paying midgrade gas prices around $4.22 per gallon, among the lowest reported in Finney County for the week ending Sept. 19. The report compares Holcomb and Garden City prices to county and statewide averages, and explains how refinery outages and global oil tensions have pushed 2026 fuel costs sharply higher.
• USD 457 Teachers Named Crystal Apple Finalists (westernkansasnews.com) — Holcomb families can cheer on local educators as Wiley Elementary's Alayna Addison and Holcomb Elementary's Tregg Rodriguez are among six finalists for the 2026 Crystal Apple Teacher Awards. Winners will be announced at a Nov. 19 banquet in Garden City, where top honorees receive cash prizes, an engraved crystal apple, and an iPad, with tickets available starting Oct. 1.
