• Kansas congressional delegation backs disaster declaration for KCK storm damage (kmbc.com) — Federal lawmakers from Kansas are backing Governor Laura Kelly's request for a major disaster declaration to help Kansas City recover from August storms that damaged hundreds of homes and businesses. The storms knocked out power to about 27,000 residents in Wyandotte County, and local utilities called it one of the most destructive events in county history.
