KU's Hilltop childcare center cited for 7 violations in letter threatening to revoke license (ljworld.com) — Families in Lawrence face more childcare uncertainty as KU's Hilltop Child Development Center, which serves about 400 children, has been cited for seven state violations and warned its license could be suspended. The center is already slated to close next month, prompting intense pushback from parents, KU faculty and local officials worried about losing one of the community's largest childcare providers.

Douglas County commissioners supportive of extended-stay housing pilot at Lawrence shelter (lawrencekstimes.com) — Douglas County leaders are backing a new extended-stay housing pilot at the Lawrence Community Shelter that would turn several Monarch Village tiny homes into 30- to 180-day recovery units for medically vulnerable unhoused residents.
