1. Daily News- Sept. 30, 2026 (rileycountypolice.org) — Riley County Police detail several recent Manhattan arrests, including probation and parole violations and multiple cases involving alleged battery against law enforcement officers. Incidents occurred on S. Seth Child Road, Tuttle Creek Boulevard, and elsewhere in town, with some suspects still jailed. Residents are reminded they can anonymously share crime tips through Crime Stoppers and explore police reports online.
2. Manhattan Celebrates 'Dolly Day' (kstatecollegian.com) — Manhattan businesses are stretching their Sept. 25 "Dolly Day" celebration into Oct. 2 with punch cards that encourage you to visit local shops and honor Dolly Parton's legacy of kindness. From Sisters of Sound Records to Varsity Donuts and Manhattan Brewing Company, participating spots are offering themed experiences and prizes while inviting residents to channel Parton's generosity around town.
3. KBOR: K-State among state colleges trending up in headcount while 2-year institutions dip (themercury.com) — Kansas State University's Manhattan, Salina and Olathe campuses have grown to 21,283 students this fall, marking their highest headcount since 2019 and nearly 8% growth since 2022. Closer to home, Manhattan Area Technical College has dropped to 784 students, its lowest enrollment since 2018, even as most state universities notch modest gains.
4. Kansas 4-H Foundation Selects NAI Martens to Market Rock Springs Ranch - Ad Astra Radio (adastraradio.com) — Based in Manhattan, the Kansas 4-H Foundation has hired Wichita firm NAI Martens to market Rock Springs Ranch as it explores new ownership options for the longtime 4-H property. Foundation leaders say the move is a key step in deciding the camp's future while they continue focusing on statewide youth programming. More updates will be shared as the process advances.
