• Police ID dog, owner after bite incident in Kansas business (hayspost.com) — Overland Park police have identified the dog and owner involved in a weekend bite incident at a business near W. 79th Street and Frontage Road. Earlier, authorities asked for help after a leashed light brown pit bull bit a man's leg and the owner left without sharing information. Residents with additional details can still reach out to Animal Control.
   

• 2026 Kansas City Pumpkin Patch Opening Dates & Hours (kcparent.com) — Pumpkin-loving families in Overland Park can already plan a visit to Pumpkin Hollow at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, which opens Sept. 22 with wagon rides and kid-friendly fall activities. The roundup also highlights opening dates and hours for other popular pumpkin patches around the Kansas City metro through late October and early November.
   

• City of Leawood names new fire chief with nearly 3 decades of experience in neighboring department (kctv5.com) — Overland Park residents may recognize Andrew Grove, a 28-year veteran of the Overland Park Fire Department, who has just been approved as Leawood's new fire chief. Grove, formerly OPFD's deputy chief of operations, will take over the Leawood department on Sept. 8 following the retirement of longtime chief Colin Fitzgerald.
