Deanna Rose Farmstead Hosts Pumpkin Hollow in October (kansascityonthecheap.com) — Families in Overland Park can plan ahead for Pumpkin Hollow at Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead, running Sept. 22 through Oct. 18 with weekday and weekend hours. The event includes hayrides, slides, mazes, lawn games, and a take-home pumpkin, with ticket prices set for adults, kids, and Farmstead members at the Switzer Road location.
   

2. Flight Crew Coffee preps landing in downtown Overland Park (johnsoncountypost.com) — A long-time downtown Overland Park antique shop space is being transformed into Flight Crew Coffee, aiming to open by Nov. 1 with a possible soft opening in late October. Located off Santa Fe Drive near Thompson Park, the aviation-themed café will offer specialty drinks, local pastries, work-friendly seating, and community events, giving residents a new neighborhood hangout.
   

3. Johnson County children's entertainment center closes. It's 'bittersweet,' owner says (kansascity.com) — A popular kids' party spot, Pump It Up in Overland Park, has closed after more than two decades in the metro, with the owner citing high rent and changing birthday trends. The inflatable-filled venue once operated on Metcalf and later at 135th Street, and its shutdown reflects how families are gravitating toward newer attractions like Slick City Action Park.
   

4. How bad (or good) are Wichita drivers? See how the city ranks in Allstate report (kansas.com) — Overland Park drivers rank among the safest in the country, placing 12th nationally and just behind Olathe in Allstate's latest "America's Best Drivers" report. The study finds local drivers go about 12.45 years between collisions, with crash likelihood roughly 12.7% lower than the national average, while Wichita and Kansas City also score relatively well.
