• 9/11 anniversary: Pieces of tortured metal from Twin Towers keep memory alive in KC (kansascity.com) — Overland Park's 9/11 Memorial at the city fire training center will host a two-hour remembrance ceremony Friday morning, including a livestream and tower-like spotlights on Sept. 10 and 11. The article also highlights how the steel beam sundial design, educational panels, and water feature help visitors—especially local first responders and families—experience and remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
   

• Prime Capital Financial taps Glenmede veteran to lead new foundations and endowments unit (investmentnews.com) — An Overland Park–based investment advisory firm, Prime Capital Financial, has launched a new foundations and endowments unit aimed at nonprofits with $5 million to $250 million in assets. Led by Glenmede veteran Mark Hays, the Overland Park team will offer OCIO services, impact investing strategy, and governance advice as it expands nationally over the next year.
   

• Marion Altman (johnsoncountypost.com) — Funeral services for longtime Leawood resident Marion Altman are being held this morning at Congregation Beth Torah on West 127th Street in Overland Park, with a virtual option available. The 98-year-old is remembered for her music, community involvement, love of family, and spirited card games, with shiva gatherings scheduled in Leawood this evening and tomorrow.
