2. Overland Park residents push back on $36 million street improvement project near 175th Street (kshb.com) — A $36 million street improvement project along 175th Street in south Overland Park is moving forward despite pushback from nearby residents concerned about scope, tree loss, and property impacts. The city says added medians, sidewalks, trails, lighting, and roundabouts are needed for safety and future growth, especially with several schools nearby. Neighbors want changes, not cancellation, and a stronger voice in the final design.
3. KC herbalist, B&B Theatres brew 'botanical magic' fun for 'Practical Magic 2' debut (kansascity.com) — Overland Park moviegoers can join hands-on herbal workshops at B&B Theatres Overland Park 16 during the "Practical Magic 2" premiere weekend, led by Kansas City herbalist Rosie Warren-Thomas. Attendees can craft custom tea blends Friday and botanical-infused oils Saturday, using herbs grown at her Nature Made Me apothecary.

Overland Park family's beloved Shetland Sheepdog featured in new 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' book (johnsoncountypost.com) — An Overland Park dog lover is celebrating her Shetland Sheepdog Rhapsody being featured in a new "Chicken Soup for the Soul" collection about beloved pets. Explore Your JCPRD: Enter the Picture Your JCPRD photo contest by Oct. 30 (johnsoncountypost.com) — Johnson County residents, including those in Overland Park, can enter the free Picture Your JCPRD photo contest through Oct. 30 for a chance at substantial gift-card prizes.
