Topeka police share photos of vehicle suspected to be involved in hit-and-run death (ksnt.com) — Topeka police are asking residents to help locate a white Jeep Compass, model years 2022–2025, suspected in a hit-and-run that killed a teenager Wednesday night in southeast Topeka. The SUV may have front-end or windshield damage, and anyone with information can contact TPD or Shawnee County Crime Stoppers, including anonymously.
3. New Gage Park Playland opens in Topeka (ksnt.com) — Families in Topeka can now enjoy the newly opened Gage Park Playland near the train depot at 635 SW Gage Blvd., featuring modern climbing structures, slides, a zip line, and an elevated Sky Trail. Shawnee County Parks and Recreation emphasized accessibility in the $1.28 million project, creating inclusive play areas for children of different ages and abilities.
4. Kansas Lottery Powerball, Pick 3 winning numbers for Sept. 23, 2026 (hutchnews.com) — Topekans can check whether their Kansas Lottery tickets from the Sept. 23 drawings are winners and, if so, redeem prizes at the Kansas Lottery headquarters at 128 N Kansas Avenue in downtown Topeka. Prizes up to $599 can be cashed at retailers, while larger amounts require mailing or visiting the Topeka office on weekdays.
5. Stormont Vail Health Encourages Community to 'Be an inFLUencer' This Flu Season (jcpost.com) — Stormont Vail Health is offering free drive-thru flu shot clinics in Topeka at the hospital's South Tower Surgery parking garage on Oct. 1 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additional walk-in clinics are scheduled in Junction City and Manhattan, encouraging residents across the region to get vaccinated and help limit the spread of seasonal flu.
