2. Measles exposure reported at Topeka hospital (wibw.com) — Health officials report a measles exposure at Stormont Vail's emergency room in Topeka, warning anyone there late Sept. 20–early Sept. 21 to monitor for symptoms through at least Oct. 12. Residents who may be susceptible are urged to avoid schools, care facilities, and contact with high‑risk people, and to confirm their measles immunity with vaccination information from KDHE and Shawnee County.
3. Specialized team help support Topeka police with mental health resources (ksnt.com) — Topeka residents are getting a closer look at how the Topeka Police Department's peer support team helps officers cope with the intense mental strain of their work, including suicide risks. Local leaders highlight the 988 and 211 numbers, which connect callers in Topeka to crisis counseling and social services, and describe growing attention to wellness in police training.
4. Kansas law graduates sworn in as attorneys after passing bar exam (wibw.com) — Newly minted Kansas attorneys took their state and federal oaths at the Topeka Performing Arts Center after passing the Kansas Bar Exam, bringing a fresh class of lawyers to the state.
