We’ve been cooking ham and beans the old fashioned way for 37 years! We slow-cook them in antique cast iron kettles over an open fire to get a good smokey flavor. The ham is from Burgers Smokehouse in the Ozarks—and gives a delicious flavor from aged and brown sugar cured smoked ham, ground finely and simmered with the beans. You can enjoy these with a full meal, or purchase them by the quart (to-go) at the pots for $10/quart. Veggie/beef soup may be substituted. Full meals include buttermilk cornbread, made from a State Fair winning recipe, plus a vegetable, dessert and drink for $13 adults, youth aged 7-15 yrs $10, and children under 6 are free! Free entertainment is provided by Topeka Barbershop Harmony groups-Capital City Chorus, Topeka Acappella Unlimited, and several quartets. B&C Equine Rescue will have ponies there to pet or ride.
