Charolette Jean Elliot (ulyssesnews.com) — Wichita native Charolette Jean Elliot, a Wichita East High and St. Joseph School of Nursing graduate, is remembered for her long nursing career that began at Sedgwick County and Wichita clinics before she settled in Ulysses. Family and friends are invited to a graveside service in Ulysses on September 19 honoring her life, devotion to family, and love of summers in Colorado.

Two hospitalized after motorcycle crash in Harvey County (ksn.com) — Two people were seriously hurt in a motorcycle crash on I-135 in Harvey County Saturday afternoon, and both were taken to a Wichita hospital. One victim is in critical condition as authorities continue investigating the single-vehicle wreck near mile marker 37.
   

4. Todd D. Koob 1967-2026 (hutchpost.com) — Hutchinson-area friends and family are mourning Todd D. Koob, who was born in Wichita and built a 35-year career in corrections while raising a family rooted across Kansas, including a daughter living in Wichita. Loved for his music, martial arts, and devotion to family, he'll be remembered at a celebration of life at his home on September 12.
   

5. Countdown to Kickoff: Wichita Collegiate hopes for bounce-back under new head coach (catchitkansas.com) — Wichita Collegiate's football team is trying to rebound from a 3-6 season under new head coach Brian Hill, with players emphasizing toughness and resilience. The Spartans kick off their new era at home against El Dorado on September 4.
